Plan Your Trip

Plan a Latvia trip that fits your time

Start with the decisions that shape the whole route: how many nights you have, whether you will drive, which season you are travelling in and how often you want to change bases.

Check before travel

Timetables, opening hours, access rules and event programmes can change. Confirm date-specific details with the official operator or venue.

Choose by available time

A Riga weekend works well without a car. Five days can add Jūrmala or Sigulda. Seven days gives enough room for Riga plus one wider region, while ten days supports a slower multi-region route or a Latvia and Lithuania journey.

Decide how you will move

Riga, Jūrmala, Sigulda, Cēsis and Jelgava are among the easiest choices by public transport. A car becomes more useful for dispersed coast, countryside accommodation and several small stops in one day.

Match the season to your bases

Summer suits coast and long daylight. Spring and autumn work well for cities, walking and a more flexible pace. Winter calls for shorter outdoor blocks and stronger indoor alternatives.

A short booking checklist

Fix international travel and the first nights first. Check regional transport on the operator site, then book any limited-entry attraction or date-specific performance. Leave ordinary city sightseeing flexible.

Before paying

Check cancellation terms, the exact station or terminal, luggage rules and late-arrival access.

Before each travel day

Recheck the operator timetable and the attraction website rather than relying on an old screenshot.
