Privacy & cookies
LatviaLinks is a free travel guide. It has no visitor accounts, shop or newsletter, and it does not load analytics or advertising cookies. Its contact form collects only the information you choose to send.

Who is behind this
LatviaLinks is an independent English-language travel guide to Latvia, created as a companion to LithuaniaLinks. The LatviaLinks editorial team controls the content and the limited site data described on this page.
The guide is designed for reading without registration. You do not need to provide a name, email address or profile to use its destination, planning, language or accommodation pages.
What the site processes
Like any website, the server receives technical request information needed to deliver a page. This can include the IP address, requested address, date and time, browser identifier and referring page. Hosting systems may keep access and error logs for security, reliability and fault investigation. LatviaLinks does not use those logs to create advertising profiles.
LatviaLinks does not collect information through an account, newsletter, checkout, comment form or photo-submission form. The separate contact form processes the details described below.
Contact messages
When you use the contact form, LatviaLinks receives the name, email address, subject and message you submit. These details are used to review and answer the enquiry, correct the guide or investigate a website problem. They are not published, added to a marketing list or sold.
The form also uses a short-lived signed request token and a keyed hash of the network address for spam prevention and rate control. The token is submitted with the form rather than stored in a cookie. Rate records are automatically removed after 24 hours. Contact emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the message and manage the correspondence.
Optional browser preferences
You can use the site without selecting Agree to all. If you select it, LatviaLinks stores that consent decision in this browser for up to 12 months and may save your best score in the Latvian phrase quiz. Both items stay on your device in localStorage and are not sent to LatviaLinks as profile data.
Agree to all covers every optional cookie and browser-storage purpose currently listed on the Cookie rules page. It does not load Google Analytics, an advertising tag or a third-party tracking script.
Offline and browser caching
LatviaLinks is a progressive web app. Its service worker can keep copies of same-site pages, styles, scripts, images, fonts and audio in the browser cache so previously opened material can remain available during a poor connection. This cache is not an analytics identifier and is not used to follow you between websites.
You can remove cached files through the browser's site-data or storage controls. Removing them may make offline pages unavailable until the site is opened again.
Accommodation, sharing and external websites
Accommodation searches are prepared through a server-side Stay22 connection. LatviaLinks may temporarily cache the returned search information to keep the page responsive. When you open a sponsored accommodation link, you leave LatviaLinks and the destination provider applies its own privacy and cookie rules.
The social sharing buttons do not load social-network scripts when the page opens. They create an outbound sharing address only when you choose a network. The receiving network may process your visit under its own terms.
Your choices and data-protection rights
You can continue without optional preferences, clear LatviaLinks site data in your browser, or reset the phrase-quiz score from the quiz. You can use the Contact page to ask about a message you submitted. If an external booking or social platform holds information about you, direct requests about that information to the provider.
People protected by the General Data Protection Regulation may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, depending on the processing involved. Latvia's Data State Inspectorate publishes guidance on these rights and accepts complaints within its remit.
If this policy changes
This page and the Cookie rules page will be updated if LatviaLinks adds a new data-collection feature, analytics service or browser-storage purpose. A change that needs fresh consent will not be treated as covered by an older agreement. The date at the top identifies the version you are reading.
